LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — Christian Services was recently visited by three faith-based groups and dozens of volunteers to revitalize the building with an exterior and interior facelift. One group, Victory Sports Camp, spent the afternoon painting in our administrative offices located at the Lancaster Bowling Center. The Sports Camp had previously visited our facilities, assisting with deck rebuilds, painting, and other maintenance upkeep projects.
Another organization, known as Mission Serve, collaborated with local churches and had dozens of volunteers shuttled in from multiple different states. Pictured above in the blue shirts, mother and daughter duo Carey and Halley traveled from Raleigh, NC to assist in the mission. Their group spent the entire week with Christian Services, working tirelessly to bring life back into the storefronts.
"We have volunteers here today from many different states, some as far as Texas! The organization, Mission Serve, is a youth-based program that targets different cities and partners with churches around the country to help non-profits and residents alike. We help to empower individuals while addressing physical, spiritual, and emotional needs through volunteerism and community involvement," Carey expressed.
"The Way," a home-based ministry program from Second Baptist Church of Lancaster, also spent a week at Christian Services helping those in need while spreading the joy of Jesus. They offer a variety of services, 17 in total, ranging in tracks, such as evangelism, home makeovers, yard work, and other handyman services. While working alongside Christian Services for the week, "The Way" participants offered free car washes, assisted in sorting food in our Food Pantry, and helped sort donations at the Family Store.
